The eighth stage takes us on 30 km and 270 meters of altitude down into the Bohemian basin to Litvinov. The checkpoint is located in the park behind Valdstein Castle.
As early as in the 13th century tin was mined on a large scale in Zinnwald. The exhibition mine „Vereinigt Zwitterfeld“ bears witness to this. The Tiefe Bünaustolln literally provides deep insights into the mining history. Past Zinnwald, the Stoneman Miriquidi Road passes the Czech border and leads Southwest through the picturesque bizarre moorland area Cínovecké rašeliniště. From here the route takes you uphill, along the Stürmer, the largest ski area of the Eastern OreMountains. The summit offers a wonderful view. The short descent to the valleybasin of the Flöha is followed by the next ramp up to Dlouhá Louka. Every ascentis rewarded with a breathtaking view over the North Bohemian Basin. The next descent of an altitude of 400 meters leads down there. Here, you will find the next checkpoint: Litvínov, at the back of Zámek Valdštejnů (Waldstein Castle).
