The fun starts right behind Stolpen on the former race track near Hohnstein. From Sebnitz the road winds its way through the romantic “Kirnitzschtal“ valley up to the spa town of Bad Schandau. If you want to take a break from driving, we recommend the “Kirnitzschtalbahn“, a tram that has been running amidst forest and rocks for more than 120 years. On the stretch up to Berggießhübel, you’ll see “Königstein“ fortress and the distinctive shape of the “Lilienstein“, an imposing table mountain.
Leaving the national park behind, the tour continues in the beautiful “Müglitztal“ valley featuring Weesenstein Palace, the town of Glashütte which is famous for the watches of the same name and the mining town Geising in the eastern part of the Ore Mountains.
