The Geisingberg lies between the mining town of Altenberg and the village of Geising. It is basalt hill, 824 m above the sea level. There are many routes leading to the top, the easiest goes from Altenberg. Look out tower and small mountain hut with refreshment possibilty await you on the top.
In addition to the Pinge, the Geisingberg is a noticeable landmark. The mountain is a popular hiking destination all year round. At the top of Geisingberg there is a mountain hut, where you can get some refreshment, rest and regain your energy.The view from the Louis tower is warmly recommended. The viewing platform at a height of 18 meters offers a fantastic all-round view of the Ore Mountains, the Bohemian part of the Ore Mountains and the Dresden Elbland. The viewing platform can be reached via a spiral staircase with 88 steps.On the Geisingberg you will find a stamp point that identifies the summit as a destination of the "14 eight-thousanders" tour.
