Located in the area of the former Dominican monastery, the StadtMuseum is one of the oldest in the Free State of Saxony.
After a long structural repair, the town museum was reopened in 1993. The exhibitions are dedicated to the Elbe sandstone and the history of the town. In addition, a remnant of the building, which partly dates back to the monastery period, was converted into the entrance building of the museum.
