Liebenau laid out spaciously in an open, almost straight valley with gentle slopes and wide ground. Liebenau is one of the early village complexes in the Eastern Ore Mountains and was part of the Lauenstein domain. The rural town also has attractive offers for tourists and visitors.
With a length of 3.5 km, the place extends from 625 m to 530 m above sea level. The historic village church “To the Twelve Apostles”, the oldest sacred building in the district, is a real gem. The construction of the church is estimated to be in the second half of the 14th century, around 1370, and it is a special architectural monument.
Another attraction is the Liebenau Farm Museum. It shows a collection of agricultural machines, tools and objects from the individual farming industry to the present day and the history of the development of the place.Hikers can enjoy leisurely walks in a wide landscape. The cultural life is determined by a large number of clubs and organizations. It is also interesting to use the shooting range.
